'Past Present & future Makers' Exhibition in  Divinity & Jo Lavelle's studio. Tenants, past tenants and students connected to MCDC each create a ring inspired by the building.

Images of my work.

Whats going on...

Been really busy recently, just moved to a new studio space with co habites Cai and Carly, very cool place with lots of opportunity for smells, noise and inspiration...just got to work my way through the debris that is my so called studio 'gear' and organise myself.
The Waterside exhbition that has been home to a piece of my work is coming to an end and i must now go and pick this up and find room to re house it! On the flip side i have been picked to show some work, with the opportunity of selling at Gallery Volaine Ulmer in Toulouse, France from June to July.

Violaine Ulmer, artist, is also a jewellery designer.
'To her, each piece of jewelry is first of all a small sculpture with their own plastic qualities; a sculpture that becomes jewellery because it is worn, occupied by a body.
Produced in small series or as single copy, the pieces are made from noble materials or those from industrial origins, from natural matter or synthetic, but always taking a concise position, seeking the balance between sobriety and fantasy.'

Violaine Ulmer lives and works in Toulouse.

Festival: The crucible that allows artists, musicians, technologists and future-thinkers to share, innovate and bring the future into the present. The FutureEverything Festival (formerly Futuresonic, est. 1995) brings together world premieres of astonishing artworks at the 1830 Warehouse, an explosive city-wide music programme, and trailblazing thinkers from around the world. 2012’s festival venues include the Museum of Science and Industry, Islington Mill, St Phillip’s Church, Royal Northern College of Music, Instituto Cervantes, Spinningfields, Manchester Academy and Victoria Baths.

Conference: Astonishing talks and visionary people in a global conversation on technology, society and culture. The FutureEverything Conference is the place to go each year for the important international debates in the field, bringing 500 opinion formers, futurologists, researchers, artists, technologists and scientists together to explore the latest issues affecting today’s digital culture. In 2012 the conference will be hosted at the Museum of Science and Industry in Castlefield.

The FutureEverything Award: A major international award for artworks, social innovations, or software and technology projects which bring the future into the present and is assessed by an international jury. The 2012/2013 Award will be presented at 2013′s festival.

FutureEverything Research

FutureEverything is also a technology and social innovation organisation that has a strong global network, an international profile, and is recognised for leading pioneering projects and important international debates. The organisation delivers a range of benefits, including mass engagement, international networks, local advocacy, training and leadership, and explores themes including innovation, technology, art, society and the environment. It is embedded in academic research and business support networks, and is central to the innovation ecology in the UK.

Innovation & Leadership: FutureEverything is an innovation incubator with a long history of creative leadership in areas such as mobile and locative arts, social media, and the environment. Many say we are Manchester’s only think tank in the digital space, although we see ourselves as more ‘do tank‘ than think tank.

Global Network: FutureEverything is a destination for a world-wide community of creative visionaries in digital media and contemporary art, and an international hub for Manchester and England.

Year-round Impact: FutureEverything is embedded in research and business development networks feeding in and out of the festival, so that there is continuity between the inspiration space of the festival and year-round support and engagement.

Elegant Partnerships: FutureEverything enjoys a strategic alliance with the ImaginationLancaster research centre at Lancaster University, and is working in partnership with a wide range of other regional, national and international organisations including Manchester Cultural Partnership, BBC and MediaCityUK.
